Tikrit University makes new progress in the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2026.

 

In a step reflecting its continuous commitment to academic excellence and the promotion of scientific research, the University of Tikrit has made a significant advance in the results of the QS World University Rankings: Arab Region 2025, which were officially announced in Muscat, the capital of Oman, in the presence of the University President, Professor Dr. Wa'ed Mahmoud Raoof.

According to the new results, the University of Tikrit moved from the (171–180) category in last year's ranking to the (161–170) category among Arab universities, out of 296 participating institutions. This represents a qualitative step forward in the regional classifications. Furthermore, the university achieved a new competitive standing, securing rank 119 among universities in the West Asia region, an accomplishment that reinforces its position on the Arab academic map.

Professor Dr. Wa'ed Mahmoud Raoof affirmed that this achievement is the fruit of sustained institutional work undertaken by the university across several key axes, including supporting scientific research, encouraging publication in prestigious international repositories, improving the educational environment for students and faculty members, and implementing developmental strategies aimed at expanding academic specializations and enhancing international cooperation, including attracting students from outside Iraq.

The University President received the certificate of documentation for this progress during the official launch ceremony of the ranking results in Muscat, in a celebratory atmosphere that brought together representatives of leading Arab universities and global ranking experts. The University of Tikrit affirmed its commitment to continuing efforts aimed at raising the quality of education and scientific research and working toward achieving advanced positions in regional and international rankings in the coming years.
