The College of Education in Tuz Khurmatu, Tikrit University, held a scientific lecture on "Mechanisms for Implementing Resolution 1325 in Government Institutions."

Under the auspices of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education in Tuz Khurmatu, Professor Dr. Nihad Ali Shafiq, in execution of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and with direct follow-up from the Women's Affairs Department at the Presidency of Tikrit University, the Women's Affairs Unit at our college organized a scientific lecture on Monday morning, June 1, 2026, entitled "Mechanisms for Implementing Resolution 1325 in Government Institutions." This lecture reflects the college's commitment to implementing the provisions of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security, and falls under the "Prevention Pillar" adopted by the Women's Affairs Department, aiming to raise awareness about UN Resolution 1325 and its four main pillars: Participation, Protection, Prevention, as well as Relief and Recovery. The lecturers, Assistant Lecturer Iqbal Saeed Mohammed (Liaison Officer of the Women's Affairs Unit at our college) and Assistant Lecturer Sirwan Aziz Shukur (Legal Expert), highlighted Iraq's regional leadership in implementing national strategies, explaining that the Iraqi state has adopted multiple systematic executive mechanisms to ensure the application of these strategies, achieved through the operation of the cross-sectoral national team, the activation of the role of women's affairs departments, divisions, and units, the contributions of gender units, and the strengthening of international partnerships to bolster these efforts. The lecture witnessed active attendance from various segments of the university community, featuring rigorous discussions and interventions that reflected the positive impact of the activity in raising awareness of national policies, in alignment with the goals and directives of the Women's Affairs Department at Tikrit University.
