The College of Education in Tuz Khurmatu organizes a scientific seminar and environmental initiatives as part of Sustainability Week. ----------------

As part of the Sustainability Week activities held under the theme "Sustainability: Our Path Toward a Better Future," the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division at the College of Education/Tuz Khurmatu organized a distinguished scientific symposium on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. The event was held under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Nihad Ali Shafiq, Dean of the College, and Assistant Professor Dr. Sayyaf Abd Hussein, Director of the Continuing Education Center at Tikrit University, in cooperation with the college’s Continuing Education Unit. The symposium featured lectures by Dr. Samar Nashat Ali, Dr. Intisar Salam Youssef, and Ms. Mahtab Mushtaq Ali, and aimed to highlight the significance of utilizing food industry waste for biofuel production as a sustainable solution to reduce environmental pollution, enhance resource efficiency, and support the transition toward clean energy. Attended by numerous faculty members and students, the event included valuable scientific presentations and constructive discussions that enriched the participants' knowledge. Concurrently, under the direct supervision of Dr. Samar Nashat Ali, the division organized several activities, including the distribution of awareness brochures on sustainability concepts and an afforestation campaign involving active student participation to plant trees across the college campus, thereby promoting environmental culture and improving the university landscape. These initiatives underscore the commitment of the College of Education/Tuz Khurmatu to supporting scientific and environmental initiatives and institutionalizing sustainability values within the student body and the community.
