The College of Education in Tuz Khurmatu is organizing a large-scale tree-planting campaign to mark National Tree Day.

Under the auspices of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and in celebration of International Women's Day, Ms. Ikhlas Ali Fadel from the College of Education/Tuz Khurmatu was honored in recognition of her distinguished efforts and effective contributions to administrative work and the university's academic mission. This recognition took place during a ceremony organized by the University Presidency to honor a select group of creative women across various university departments, appreciating their vital role in supporting academic and administrative functions and enhancing women's presence in higher education institutions. The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college, Asst. Lect. Baneen Ali Askar, who emphasized the importance of supporting and empowering women within the university environment and bolstering their active roles in both scientific and administrative fields. At the conclusion of the event, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Ms. Ikhlas Ali Fadel in recognition of her dedication and sincerity in performing her duties, with wishes for her continued success and contribution to the university’s service.

The College of Education/Tuz Khurmatu organized an extensive afforestation campaign throughout the college’s corridors and gardens under the supervision and participation of the Dean, Professor Dr. Nihad Ali Shafiq, and with the participation of the Scientific and Administrative Assistants, faculty members, staff, and students, coinciding with National Afforestation Day on March 12, 2026. This campaign was organized by the college's Afforestation Unit, during which a number of trees and flowers were planted in the college gardens and walkways in a step aimed at expanding green spaces and creating an aesthetic and healthy environment within the campus. The campaign also witnessed the distribution of awareness brochures urging interest in planting trees and preserving the environment, and encouraging participation in spreading environmental awareness within the community. This initiative comes within the framework of enhancing the culture of environmental awareness and consolidating the spirit of responsibility toward the environment, reflecting the college's role in community service and contributing to building a green and sustainable university environment.
